Comapping is built on Adobe Flash Player which is reaching its end of life on December 31st, 2020. We are working on potential migration options, however, rest assumed you can continue using the Desktop Version even after December 31st, 2020.

Tips & Tricks

  • When using keyboard shortcuts for cut/copy/paste, hold ctrl then tap one time the x, c, or v (x=cut, c=copy, v=paste) very quickly
  • Create Map Shortcuts, or Quick-Links to JUMP to areas of your map you use often. Also helpful as a way to communicate to others on your map where to look..."See my Shortcut #3 !" This is also how you create slides for presentations. *Select the top 'Shortcuts & Presentations' tab, then Drag & Drop Topics into the top toolbar.
  • Hit 'Share' in the top toolbar to Invite others to your map. It turns your Comapping into a Topic-Based Chat Room!
  • Zoom out w/ the toolbar slider or by holding <CTRL> + mouse wheel. This is a good way to back up and see more of your map.
  • Hit <TAB> to 'focus' on your selected topic.
  • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through a map! Click inside a selected topic to edit it.
  • Many of the toolbar ICONS change in color or sequence if you click on them in the map, or Right-click them in the map to select a specific icon. R-click can also remove an icon, or click them again in the toolbar above to remove.
  • Format multiple topics as at one time by selecting each using +select or by draggin a box w/ your mouse...then click again on any of the selected topics and format in the pop-up box under that topic.
  • Export Maps to Microsoft Word by exporting (Advanced Tab) as an .RTF file.
  • While the 'Shortcuts& Presentations' Tab is selected, you cannot move or delete topics. Click on another tab to do this, then click back. Functions disabled here as a safeguard when Showing a Presentation.
  • Shortcut Keys show up in the bottom left corner of your screen when you mouse over Tool Bar Functions
  • Use 'Add a slide' (or drag topics into the toolbar) under the 'Shortcuts & Presentations' Tab to start creating a Presentation.
  • The Gray area on the left side of your map shows the total map Navigation Path back to the core topic.
  • You must be in 'whole-topic' mode (not 'text-edit' mode) to drag and drop a topic in your map
  • Right-click on topics for more shortcuts
